Moving to Sweden and Taxes
Hello,My wife and I have retired and have recently moved back to Sweden She is a Swedish citizen and I have a permanent resident permit. We are not sure what or how we are to declare our income from the US on our Swedish taxes. We worked part of the year (2020) in the US before retiring. My wife arrived in Sweden in June 2020 and I arrived in September 2020. We have been living and work in the US for the past 20 years. We are not sure what report on our Swedish tax form. Do we have to declare our last half-year of work in the US, our savings, house sale, etc? This is a bit confusing. We just had our US/Swedish taxes done in the US by an Expat company which went very well, we just can seem to find any clear information. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
Since you are living in Sweden you need to report all incomes in Sweden from the date you moved to Sweden. That is the general rule but there is a tax agreement between the US and Sweden that may prevent Sweden to tax the income. I would recommend you contact us directly so we can have a look at your specific case.
Kind regards
Daniel
